German supply bags turned into a blanket/rug

Nice item! They cut open two bags and then sewed them together. This way, they had something to keep warm. After the war, such items were almost impossible to get, except military goods. Many civilians were creative with this. It is remarkable that they left the swastika intact and did not cut it out. This item comes directly from a flea market in Normandy. A great piece for any collection!

Gaaf item, ze hebben twee zakken opengeknipt en vervolgens aan elkaar genaaid. Zo hadden ze toch iets om zich te verwarmen. Er was na de oorlog haast niet te krijgen, behalve militaire goederen. Veel burgers waren hier creatief mee. Het is wel bijzonder dat ze de swastika hebben laten staat en er niet hebben uitgeknipt. Dit item komt rechtstreeks van een brocante in Normandië. Leuk item voor in de collectie!
