Dutch Howitzer regulations 1933–34 named to Staff I-8 R.A.
Nice and very special set of two regulations about the howitzers. The booklets are still in a neat used condition. The booklets are in the name "Herman Heffener", born on 12 May 1914. During the mobilization and the fighting in the May days of 1940 he served as a lieutenant with the Staff of the First Battalion of the Eighth Regiment Artillery, abbreviated: Staff I-8 R.A. He had the task as an officer of the fire control service. This regiment provided support with their heavy guns during the Battle of the Grebbeberg. In the well-known public military reports about the fighting at the Grebbeberg, his name is even specifically mentioned when he arrived by car at the positions to bring orders during the German advance. After the capitulation, Lieutenant Heffener was taken prisoner by the German occupier. Documents of this have also been added to the listing.
I have also added scans of, among other things, a photo and more mentions of him in newspapers from that time. There will certainly be more photos of him that can surface with further research. A very nice set that you will not easily find again!

Leuke en zeer bijzondere set van twee voorschriften over de Houwitsers. De boekjes verkeren nog in een nette gebruikte staat. De boekjes staan op naam 'Herman Heffener' geboren op 12 mei 1914. Tijdens de mobilisatie en de strijd in de meidagen van 1940 zat hij als luitenant bij de Staf van de Eerste Afdeling van het Achtste Regiment Artillerie, afgekort: Staf I-8 R.A. Hij had de taak als officier van de vuurregelingsdienst. Dit regiment leverde met hun zware geschut steun tijdens de Slag om de Grebbeberg. In de bekende openbare militaire verslagen over de gevechten bij de Grebbeberg staat zijn naam zelfs specifiek genoemd toen hij per auto in de stellingen aankwam om orders te brengen tijdens Duitse opmars. Na de capitulatie is luitenant Heffener door de Duitse bezetter krijgsgevangen gemaakt. Ook zijn hiervan documenten toegevoegd aan de advertentie.
Ook heb ik scans toegevoegd van onder andere een foto en nog meer vermeldingen van hem in de krant uit die tijd. Ook zullen er vast nog meer foto's van hem boven water komen met wat meer onderzoek. Een zeer leuke set die je niet snel nog eens gaat vinden!
