The photo shows the aftermath of the Allied attack on the French coastal town of Dieppe on 19 August 1942. The image shows the remaining landing troops, most of whom are wounded, returning aboard a British destroyer. The photo was taken by an English photographer and released as a press photo in October 1942. Great piece of history for the collection!

Engelse Perfoto: De terugkeer na de bloedige landing bij Dieppe 1942

De foto laat de zware nasleep van de geallieerde aanval op de Franse kustplaats Dieppe op 19 augustus 1942. Op de afbeelding keert de rest van de landingstroepen, waarvan de meesten gewond zijn, terug aan boord van een Britse torpedobootjager. De foto is gemaakt door een Engelse fotograaf en werd in oktober 1942 vrijgegeven als persfoto. Gaaf stukje geschiedenis voor in de collectie!
