The photo shows a German artillery unit (howitzer battery). The photo was taken by war correspondent Vack and released in August 1944. The image shows how the soldiers heavily camouflaged their horses and carts with branches and leaves. This was done to avoid being spotted by Allied aircraft. A nice item for the collection!

De foto laat een Duitse artillerie-eenheid (haubits-batterij) zien. De foto is gemaakt door oorlogscorrespondent Vack en vrijgegeven in augustus 1944. Op de afbeelding is te zien hoe de militairen hun paarden en karren zwaar hebben gecamoufleerd met takken en bladeren. Dit deden ze om niet op te vallen voor geallieerde vliegtuigen. Leuk item voor de verzameling!
