Dutch document set from Maartensdijk

The set consists of five documents belonging to the Hakkeling family. The papers from 1944 and 1945 are official German exemptions (Ausweise) for Tieme Hakkeling from Utrecht. As a supervisor at Rijkswaterstaat, he had to inspect the condition of roads, locks and bridges. The 'Fahrradsicherstellung' gave him permission to cross the bridge at Vianen and prevented German soldiers from confiscating his bicycle. Among the wartime documents is also an older Dutch military service document from 1919 concerning the conscription of Berend Hakkeling in Sappemeer. A nice set that certainly deserves a place in the display case!

De set bestaat uit vijf documenten van de familie Hakkeling. De papieren uit 1944 en 1945 zijn officiële Duitse vrijstellingen (Ausweise) voor Tieme Hakkeling uit Utrecht. Als opzichter bij Rijkswaterstaat moest hij de staat van wegen, sluizen en bruggen controleren. Het 'Fahrradsicherstellung' gaven hem toestemming om de brug bij Vianen te passeren en voorkwamen dat Duitse soldaten zijn fiets in beslag namen. Tussen de oorlogspapieren zit ook één ouder Nederlands militiebewijs uit 1919 over de dienstplicht van Berend Hakkeling in Sappemeer. Een leuke set die zeker niet misstaat in de vitrine!
