Dutch LBD document 'Beek en Donk' report concerning bombs

The letter is still in good condition and originates from the LBD (Luchtbeschermingsdienst). It is dated July 26, 1942. The document instructs mayors to immediately report bomb impacts and unexploded bombs within 200 meters of high-voltage lines in order to protect the power supply. Publication in the press or on the radio was prohibited. This shows once again that they did not want people to start doubting Germany's victory or the fact that the Allies were slowly advancing into the country. This was kept hidden from the public in this way.

De brief verkeerd nog in een nette staat en is afkomstig van de LBD (Luchtbeschermingsdienst) hij is gedateerd 26 juli 1942. In het document worden burgemeesters geïnstrueerd om inslagen van bommen en blindgangers binnen 200 meter van hoogspanningslijnen direct te melden om de stroomvoorziening te beschermen. Publicatie in de pers of op de radio is verboden. Dit bewijst maar weer dat ze niet wilden dat mensen gingen twijfelen aan de overwinning van Duitsland of dat de geallieerden langzaam het land binnen vielen, dit werd op deze manier onder de radar gehouden.
